LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Often gets changed with customization, this is the path to search
for shared libraries at run time. Frankly I'm not sure how this
interacts with OSX library search mechanism, but if your X11 app
uses special libraries, chances are they are in this path.
On MacOSX, this one is called DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and, in general, it
is not needed and it is not a good idea to use it unless you know
exactly what you are doing, because it confuses the normal working
of the library search mechanism.

Good to know. Thanks! --MAZ
