Also, when I try to launch it from a terminal window, I get the following output:
"7625-46:~ nicolasloeuille$ startx
XFree86 Version 4.4.0 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600)
[DRI] screen 0 installation complete
Screen 0 added: 1440x900 @ (0,0)

Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list!
waiting for X server to shut down Quitting XDarwin..."
It seems that the error comes from SecurityPolicy. There is no such file in the direcory mentionned by the output. I found it in /etc/X11.AppleBackup/xserver/ but I cannot write into the directory /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/

How do you start X11?
What do you have in your ~/.xinitrc file?
