Exactly! Still does not work:
if the command:
defaults write com.apple.x11 wm_ffm -bool true
is given and x11 retarted, then:
1. it IS possible to "focus" on another xterm window with the mouse
2. in all cases of true X11 applications I tried (xemacs installed from
the source, xmakemol, xcalc)
it DOES work as well!
3. it is NOT possible to do that for LyX I installed: they say it is a
"native MAC" application which I
read that it is a proper AQUA application
4. this does NOT work between X11 and other AQUA applications such as
Aquamacs for instance.
This makes me think that:
1. mouse focusing does actually work between native x11 applications
after the defaults command is run;
it DOES work!
2. it does NOT work between aqua applications or between aqua and x11
applications
Then, the question is this now: how to change the mouse focus behaviour
for aqua applications?
Any ideas?
Lev
For me it doesn't work correctly either. I just verified that the boolean is set
to true. Focus follows mouse between xterms but not between emacs running under
X11 (started at the command line) and an xterm nor does an x11 app get the focus
when I enter it with the mouse if a non-x11 app had the focus before.
Anyone know how to make focus under mouse actually work? I'd really like to
give up my Linux box but so far can't with this mis-behavior on OSX.

Hi there,
I use LyX a lot and there is one problem when it is run under MAC OS X:
when various maths panels are opened, one has to actually click on the
main LyX
window to return back to it. It is extremely inconvenient! In Linux
(e.g. under KDE)
this problem is nicely handled by enabling "focus under mouse" behavour.
I tried the command
defaults write com.apple.x11 wm_ffm -bool true
typed in xterm, as suggested in the quartz-wm man page, it allows
focusing
between several xterms. HOwever, LyX windows are still completely
ignorant to this!
I wonder if anybody knows the answer to this?
If the option is correct, it should take effect as soon as you
RESTART the X-window environment
