It may ``fix'' some problems, but it causes some very wierd
behaviour with OpenOffice.2.1 (2.2's database access appears to
be hosed which is why I'm not using it).
With xclipboard running, copy only copies data, not formulas, and
if copying a single cell to a range of cells, only populates the
last cell in the range. Paste special doesn't bring up its
normal dialog asking whether to paste everything, or allow one to
select different things to copy.
Killing xclipboard cures this problem.
I spent well over an hour tonight trying various things to figure
out why OpenOffice.org was behaving strangely including trying
various versions of OOo, killing the Applications/Library... from
my $HOME directory, and checking for possible changes in Java.
FWIW: I've not had any success subscribing to the OpenOffice.org
mailing lists as they insist on using the address of one of our
internal machines, ignoring my From: and Reply-To: headers.

Anyone who thinks Microsoft never does anything truly innovative isn't
paying attention to the part of the company that pushes the state of
its art: Microsoft's legal department.
