To some extent this is a quartz-wm wart, also. Standard X11 window
managers generally provide an alternative way to move windows
(typically alt-center-drag or alt-right-drag, but it depends on the
wm). Quartz-wm acts like Quartz/Aqua, which doesn't have such a
mechanism.
