X11 has had multi-head display support for a very long time. ISTM that
situations involving multiple physical displays ought to be mapped into
that model, not into the "it's just one big screen with a weird outline"
model. You yourself were just pointing out that forcing X11 to follow
Apple's model isn't always sane.
