Hi all,
I'm confused as to why my X11 install stopped working, maybe one of you can help.
I upgraded to 10.5, and in the same step downloaded and applied all udpates up to
10.5.3.
X11 stopped working at that point. The log messages stated "unable to find application for org.x.X11". Based on some google results with that message I installed the XQuartz version of X11.
That successfully changed the X11 launch bar icon (i.e. it did install something), but still nothing is starting when I click on it. The log entries state:
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM org.x.X11[427] X11.app = /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM com.apple.launchd[226] (org.x.X11[427]) Check-in of Mach service failed. PID 427 is not privileged: org.x.X11
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM org.x.X11[427] X11.app: main(): argc=2
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM org.x.X11[427] argv[1] = -launchd
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM org.x.X11[427] bootstrap_register(): unknown error code
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM com.apple.launchd[226] (org.x.X11[427]) Exited with exit code: 1
27/08/08 6:12:49 PM com.apple.launchd[226] (org.x.X11) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Does that make any sense to anyone? Ideas?
Thanks
- Balt
