I'm wondering how it's supposed to work at all, given that all the visuals
are 24-bit TrueColor. An application requesting 8-bit PseudoColor should
fail to find a compatible visual.
I still don't get it, surely something like
XMatchVisualInfo(dpy, screen, 8, PseudoColor, &vinfo)
will fail based on the output of xdpyinfo, right? I don't see a way in the
prefs to turn on 256 color mode. Are you saying that you added some
libpixman stuff to the server that will match a DirectColor visual in that
case or something crazy like that? Or do you want us to test Xephyr?
