I found that I was able to do everything I needed with the built in
ssh agent support and some LaunchAgent configuration files to
automagically create tunnels for me when processes (like Mail)
connected to certain local ports. This led to a setup with fewer
moving parts that just worked without any intervention on my part, so
I uninstalled SSHKeychain. Your mileage may vary.
If you'd like more information about how my LaunchAgent files work,
feel free to contact me off-list; it doesn't seem entirely on topic to
go into detail here.

That would be either SSHKeychain or SSH Agent. If you're running
Leopard
you don't want either: Leopard has one built in.
I run SSHKeychain without any trouble - mainly for the feature of
setting up tunnels for easy access. I don't believe it is possible to
do this in Leopard without that?
