BTW, here's the portfile from MacPorts, so it may be useful to someone
wanting to add it to fink.
Also, are you using firefox-x11 built from fink? I doubt it is as
robust as firefox-x11 built from MacPorts... I don't think those guys
in fink have been following my efforts to fixup firefox-x11...

1) Download, compile, install mozplugger manually
2) Make a fink .spec or whatever they use to build mozplugger
3) Bug someone who has commit access to fink to do (2) for you.

Thanks for the reply. However I use Fink which does not provide
mozplugger; any workaround in this case?

I use mozplugger. It lets you
use many "vanilla" applications as plugins. This lets
me use evince (the gnome pdf viewer) within firefox-x11.
You can do this in macports as:
sudo port -v install firefox-x11
sudo port -v install mozplugger
sudo port -v install evince

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask the
question, but here it is.
I would like to be able to open PDF files inside the
windows of the X11 version of Firefox. I found one plugin
for that and I installed it. However, when I click on a link
to a PDF file I am asked to chose an application to open it
or to save it on the hard drive. For some reason the plugin
does not load.
Anyone knows if there is a solution?
This is under the latest version of X11.
Thanks,
Pierre
