Yeah, this is another case of "special" copying that breaks with the
new pbproxy code.
You can probably get closer to what you want by just disabling the
"CLIPBOARD to NSPasteboard" proxying in the clipboard tab of X11's
preferences.

Hello
I am a heavy user of nedit. I have not find any other
editor that makes my fingers happy.
I have a problem using nedit in my imac 10.5.7 upgraded
X11 2.3.3 upgraded system: basically I can use the
copy-paste options in either normal or column mode
without problems if I am working within the same file.
However, if I try to use it to copy stuff from a file to
another, nothing happens. I know the stuff is in the clipboard
because I can paste it with the middle button, but
the ctrl-shift-v or ctrl-v are simply doing nothing.
I would like to know if this is fixable in the options menu,
if this could go away by installing x11 2.3.3.2 or
if this is a problem with nedit itself, and maybe someone
can illuminate this dark spot.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Carlos
