Hmm, this is interesting, in the xemacs sample, it is apparently stuck
calling something called getaddrinfo, so there may be some DNS thing
happening, which makes sense as we have a quirky network with all sorts of
firewall bullsh*t going on. :-) How can I poke into this?
I suggest that you check the archives for XEmacs Beta at
http://list-archive.xemacs.org/pipermail/xemacs-beta/
Two of the main developers work with Macs (Stephen Turnbull and Aidan Kehoe).
I believe that the DNS issue mited to Macs and may be mediated by adding the
configure directive --without-ipv6-cname to your configure command before
making XEmacs. I am not sure that is the way to fix the problem. But I am
pretty sure the developers have discussed this within the last year.
Unfortunately, it looks as though the search function has not been restored
to the email archive, but the list is on gmane:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.xemacs.beta/31589/match=cname
ARGH I wish the momentary focus loss bug would be fixed...
" mited to Macs..." in my post was typed as " is not limited to Macs..."
