(I'm moving this to x11-users, since I'm guessing it's (probably) not
a developer issue.)
Ok, that did the trick for getting XQuartz up and running. Thanks!
Unfortunately I'm still having no luck with pressure sensitivity.
It's working well in Aqua (I'm using Seashore as a test for that) but
not in Gimp or Inkscape. I enabled the tablet in Gimp as described in
this blog (using up-to-date versions of the software, of course):
http://clearcove.ca/blog/2008/12/tablet-pressure-support-on-os-x-for-x11-gimp-and-inkscape/
When I set the pen input device to "screen" mode two bad things happen:
1. The tablet no longer creates strokes in the canvas. It still
works for clicking buttons and menus, but not drawing.
2. The *mouse* no longer creates strokes in the canvas. Again, it
works for buttons and menus, but not drawing.
When the pen is set to "disabled" mode I can use the pen to draw, but
there is no pressure sensitivity. This behavior is identical in both
Gimp and Inkscape. I'd be grateful for any solution or even a hint on
how to further diagnose the problem.
Thanks,
-n8
