How do I get a complete list of available xterm resources? I've read
through the xterm man page, but it seems incomplete. For example, for
as long as I can remember, I've had this entry in my ~/.Xdefaults file:
xterm*fullCursor: true
If this ever worked, it's obsolete. I *think* it may have been from one of the many forks of xterm over its lifetime, some of which have been folded back in and others lost after the main code base implemented it in a different fashion or decided not to implement it at all (usually because of security issues, as with an ancient fork that fleshed out the original raw printer support). In this case, the cursorUnderline resource, which has the opposite meaning (that is, fullCursor: false is cursorUnderline: true), became the standard way to do it.
There have been a *lot* of forks of xterm over various cursor behaviors: size/shape, blinking (I used to maintain one of those), color, etc.
While I'm at it: the ~/.Xdefaults file has been deprecated since the initial release of X11R5, so I'd be more worried about obsolete resource names. X11R5 and later use ~/.Xresources, which among other things is loaded into the X server during server startup for speed.
What I'd like to find is a complete list of available xterm resources
and their default settings.
The xterm manpage distributed with X11.app / XQuartz is complete, possibly with the exception of some standard Xt options ("man 7 x" for those).
