Thanks for that and the pointer to the crash log (I'm new to the Mac and had
yet to find that). A quick grep of the log does indeed reveal
/usr/X11/lib/libX11
Can you explain "xcb backed" vs "xtrans backed"? I don't recognise the
terms.
