Thank you Jeremy.
I surmise that Xnest will listen for incoming connections anyway.
The parameters are set in the defaults domain for org.macosforge.xquartz.X11 which contained a key app_to_run, just like X11.app and every other key, like no_auth and such as well.
The command defaults read org.macosforge.xquartz.X11 revealed the keys.
I read about using XNest, and finally, at least has the hope for configuring
XQuarts via XNest so that I can use dual monitors. I found the manuals at http://ftp.x.org/pub/X11R7.0/doc/html/manindex1.html and have used "Readability on them."
Those manuals are in fact quite a good read compared to other manual pages in general.
I also found this link : <http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20040131222238684&query=xnest> as a cookbook , with xdpyinfo I actually have some
hopes of getting it through.
Not sure whether the autodection of displays and such will work from applescript, I'll just have
separate scripts/shell files from the scripts menu for different display configurations.
