Thank you all for the suggestions.
I used to use the sleep method, but that was back when I was using a
~/.xinitrc file. Now I'm trying to work within the newer framework
(~/.xinitrc.d/98-wm.sh).
Unfortunately, I won't be able to follow up with the other suggestions
until at least week after next (just didn't want you all to think I was
ignoring the suggestions).
