If an upgrade notices that versions of your software contain known issues that make them incompatible with newer versions of the OS, they are moved aside (I think to /Incompatible Applications or some similarly named location). I know this is often the case for things like older versions of VMWare Fusion or Parallels when upgrading to a new major OS version, but it usually isn't the case with SUs.
Did you just upgrade from SL to Lion, or was this an SU? Take a look at /var/log/install.log, and if it was the update that moved it aside, it will be noted there.
