(Second attempt...Mutt had a seg fault just as I tried to send this, and
left NOTHING behind....)
This started several months ago, and for a long time, was just every now
and then. An xterm or other X app I was in would lose the focus for an
unknown reason, I'd click in the window to get it back, and whatever it
was would take it right back within a second. NOW, however, it's doing
this much more often, sometimes as much as 3--4 times in a 30 second
period, and I'm getting really p*ssed off. From the time I got the Mac
(details below), until some number of months ago, I was using the stock
X11 that came pre-installed. It quit working completely (even after a
reboot), so per a recommendation either here or in macports-users (I'm
pretty sure it was here), I got and installed XQuarts from the 'net. I
don't remember if the two coincide or not.
Oh, I almost forgot to re-add this (remember, mutt crashed before).
It does not appear to be anything in the workspace I'm in when it
does this, as nothing visible takes the focus (judging by the
title bar).
System specs:
Mac mini w/ 2.7 GHz Core i7
8 GB 13333 MHz DDRS
OS X version 10.7.5
XQuartz 2.7.4 (xorg-server 1.13.0)
X settings that might matter:
Focus follows mouse: yes
Focus on new windows: yes or no ... makes no difference
Does anyone know either A) of any known issues, and if there's a fix
other than kill -9 fscked-up-POS, or B) a way to determine which POS
is fscking with my xterms' focus so I can destroy it if it can't be
fixed? I'm getting royally p*ssed off about this, not to mention
severely annoyed.reboot), so per a recommendation either here or in

xterm has lost focus about 30--40 times or more.

In light of DHS's recommendation to defend yourself
against armed intruders with scissors, I'm giving
my deer rifle a new nickname: Scissors.
