It's not a limitation in the XQuartz X server. I can ssh into a Linux box
and redirect a Linux xterm to the XQuartz server. It works fine. It's
like xterm is broken.
Since the X11 stuff in MacPorts is so similar to the XQuartz stuff, I
looked at the xterm port. There's a patch called xterm-nohide-pointer.patch.
So, it seems to be deliberate. I wonder why.
