It looks like your DISPLAY environment variable isn't setup right. What is the output of:
echo $DISPLAY
launchctl getenv DISPLAY
Did you logout and back in per the installer's instructions? This is expected if you haven't logged out and back in.

Report that bug to SAC. I suspect they don't error out gracefully when they don't get a connection to the X11 server.
