Popping in here...
I've been reading this thread with interest; I've wanted to put a
"real" X11 environment on top of my Apple X11 setup since forever,
have yet to try, and threads like this one both encourage and scare
me. I'm pretty Unix experienced, but my X11 mojo is weak and my OSX
knowledge is hit and miss. Is there a guide somewhere that I can read,
for i3 or some other window manager, that covers issues like the ones
Bryan has been wrestling with?
Failing that... One of these days I suppose I should take the plunge
and get myself educated about X11 environments in general, but the
reading range is daunting. Tips for the impatient novice who'd like to
become an impatient beginner?
