This also leads to performance issues related to swapping under some
circumstances, which is why there was talk about a patch to ld to not do
this. I am not at all an expert on this, I just remember that it was
discussed here some time ago. So if you search hard enough, you'll find the
discussion, and there might or might not be a patch to ld that would help
you. (I only remember that it was discussed, not whether anyone actually did
it or committed to trying it.)
