We've got software built using Xcode 4 (under OS X 10.8), with a Base SDK of 10.7 and Deployment Target of 10.6. However, we also need it to run under 10.9 and 10.10. So far, our software does seem to run fine in those OS version, but… what do I do if a problem IS reported in one of those systems? Is there any way for me to use Xcode 4 under 10.9 or 10.10, so that I can debug any reported problems?
I can't simply move to Xcode 5 or 6, because we have third-party libraries that are not yet updated to those. I *might* be able to get it to work in Xcode 5, but definitely not in 6. And we still have a *lot* of customers who are using 10.6.
One other requirement is that I use the Component Manager version of the AudioUnit sdks, because that is what the VST3 SDK's auwrapper software uses. Even doing this in 10.8 required that I copy the Developer files manually from another system (since Apple no longer provides the complete Developer folder I need).
So… is this possible? Or am I going to need completely separate project to support 10.10 from those supporting 10.6 and 10.7?
Thanks,
Howard
