Hi, I’ve been searching over this mail list trying to find out how to communicate information from a plugin to a postflight script. I’m not finding quite the answers I’m looking for, so hopefully someone can help me.
So far I’ve seen 2 solutions: 1) Create a temp file using the UUID name (http://lists.apple.com/archives/installer-dev/2007/Mar/msg00057.html) (useful :) )
2) Create a temp cookie file in INSTALLER_TEMP (http://lists.apple.com/archives/installer-dev/2007/May/msg00047.html)
Questions: I’m not sure how to access INSTALLER_TEMP from the plugin. The plugin is just after the Readme and license files. How do I do I write to the INSTALLER_TEMP from the plugin? Is it even possible? The INSTALLER_TEMP seems to be created at the Installer stage itself—it doesn’t seem to exist before that…
Do most people use the UUID method?
How does this change on Leopard?
Thanks, Lisa
