In one of the Bluetooth talks at the last Apple Developer conference, the speaker mentioned a recommended text for programming Bluetooth and understanding it without having to read the original specification (which was long and dry, in his opinion). Anyone remember the name, author, or ISBN for said text? Any recommendations on good books for programming Bluetooth? Specifically, I'm interested in Bluetooth telephony. Bluetooth Telephony & Mac OS X

Is Telephony Control Protocol supported in Apple's Bluetooth implementation? Any pointers on how to access it from Cocoa or C++? What's should happen when the BT modules is unplugged...

...while a device is connected? With the TDK BT modules I'm using (the current and previous versions of the hardware they ship), sometimes I get a channel terminated event for my device. If this happens, then when I plug the module back in, everything works fine and I can reconnect. However, this only happens sometimes, AND even then it only happens the first time the module is unplugged. If I successfully unplug the module and plug it back in, it never works if I try to do it a second time. Usually I don't get the channel terminated event and all BT functionality just "locks up". The IOBluetoothLocalDeviceAvailable call still returns TRUE, but any attempt to scan for BT devices behaves the same as if no module is connected. low cost bluetooth RS 232 dongle

Hello, There is an urgent need for a cable replacement bluetooth RS232 dongle, which can be connected to any device having a RS232 port and can communicate with a blutooth device / similar pair. The cost desired is less or around 100 USD. Standard HID reports which are already recognized by the System (standard keys, mouse movements, scroll wheels, mouse button [left and right]) are handled by the System as if they came from any other HID device. Custom controls (special keyboard buttons, additional mouse buttons) are passed up to, but are not handled by the System. Does Microsoft have more than one Bluetooth keyboard? No, there is only one Bluetooth keyboard from Microsoft on the market to my knowledge. Is there any more specific information? There really is not much more to add. Since this is the developer list I will add that there are not any public APIs released to access a Bluetooth HID device with this release. We are interested in hearing what sort of access is needed by you folks to accomplish what you need. The bluetooth mouse works beautifully! The only problem is I can't find a way to configure the back and forward buttons. The standard Microsoft Mouse software doesn't work :-( I am assuming that this is a step towards HID support, but that is unconfirmed. I haven't checked the framework yet... No, microsoft does not have more than one bluetooth keyboard. There is a new file IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext. Microsoft has only one bluetooth mouse and one bluetooth keyboard. I have the microsoft bluetooth mouse, works great with my 17PB with built in bluetooth. Really nice to be able to just throw both in a bag with no cord or fuss... This usually means that you need to be paired with the device before it will allow you to open the serial channel.
