site_archiver(a)lists.apple.com Delivered-To: bluetooth-dev(a)lists.apple.com User-agent: Microsoft-Entourage/11.1.0.040913 Hi, I have spend the last couple of weeks to get a simple rfcomm connection to my cell phone, without much luck, Apples sample code doesn't help me any, what I'm trying to do is choose the device through the Bluetooth UI, and send AT commands from code, I know all necessary about PDU mode and so on, but i havent had any succes, could anyone supply with some source code, or Xcode project that does this, or guide me to some tutorial better written than Apples... I understand that I can use it to filter out devices that I don't want to see, and that's a good idea in principle. However, I haven't been able to use it without specifying a name and address for my IOBluetoothDeviceSearchDeviceAttributes struct. I can use kBluetooth***Any for the class specifiers, but I don't know the equivalents for the name and address. Without generic settings for the name and address, the generic class constants don't do me any good. I'd like to have the selector controller include all of the devices of a class, not the just the ones for which I already know the names and addresses. This question came up once before ( http://lists.apple.com/archives/bluetooth-dev/2004/Jul/msg00025.html ) but I don't see anything in the answer that directly addresses the question. Web archives are far from being the best way to search for specific topic, it's much easily done searching your mailbox in your favorite mail application. So, can someone, PLEASE, provide the complete archive of this list (from the very first message to the most recent one) for download, preferably in mailbox (.mbox) format, the way that Omni Group guys keep their lists archived? The archive can be organized by years or months or whatever, I just need it to be downloadable and easily importable into mail application. I know that it would take many megabytes, but that should not be the problem with today's broadband and fast Internet connections. When the device looks for the service the Device Pairing dialog comes up requesting the passkey to use for pairing with the device. I am currently writing a psuedo-cross platform application using the Mozilla frameworks, and its hard enough to get the pure Objective-C stuff to compile with XPCOM without having to support Apple's panels, which is basically impossible. I was wondering if anyone a) knew how to do this (use Apple's little GUI solution with Mozilla) or b) knew of any custom implementations of Bluetooth out there I could use instead (a port of BlueZ????). I'm really trying to push a Mac release parallel to the Linux and Windows releases of this program but this is making very difficult, as our program RELIES on doing device inquiries. The only other solution I can think of is if someone here that is working on the frameworks could guaranty that the Tiger Early Start Kit included updated frameworks to begin working on this. In that case I could at least get it working together and then simply wait for Tiger for a release. This project needs to be finished within months so any help is greatly appreciated.
