Even then, the simulator would not behave exactly like the device. I'm also developing Bluetooth-based apps and did not feel such an urge for a aimulator. Just to add, I'm glad Apple decided to stop supporting the simulator. Early on I burned too many cycles trying to figure out different CoreBluetooth behavior between the device and the simulator. Fidelity between software and hardware models is a hard problem to solve, and if they can't do it well enough, it's better not to try at all. So, it's incredibly aggravating that there's no Bluetooth support in the iOS 7 sim. Or is it just me? I can't figure out how to turn it on. Even more aggravating that I can build and target the 6.1 sim, and it works. Problem is, I need BT to exercise parts of my UI, and I need to see that UI under iOS 7, and it's too unwieldy to run on the device (need lots of experimentation to get autolayout correct, which means lots of slow build/run cycles on device). -- Rick _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. Stability issues with BLE?

We have developed an app that listens to BLE advertisements from a custom HW device and passes the data along to a web service. Everything works pretty much as expected, but we have now encountered some odd problems. After a very long time (we are talking about days) the iPads that are running the SW stop reporting in data and after this point, when a new device is activated in the vicinity of the iPad it does not show up in the GUI of the App as it should. Restarting the app does not help to restore the BLE discovery functionality, the only way to get it functional again is to restart the iPad. It would appear that the entire BT-stack is disabled for some reason. Has anyone seen any similar issues and if so is there a way to work around this? This has only been seen out with the customer so far, since we have not run the device for that long periods of time during the debug (it has been seen after 4-5 days of continuous use). / Jimmy _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. Services empty when didDiscoverServices triggered

This issue happens on iOS 6 and iOS7. Usually when services of peripheral are discovered, the method: - (void)discoverCharacteristics:(NSArray *)characteristicUUIDs forService:(CBService *)service will get called. Then we call the - (void)peripheral:(CBPeripheral *)peripheral didDiscoverServices:(NSError *)error method to discover the characteristics. But in my app, the peripheral.services is sometimes empty(This happens occasionally, but it's bothering since the characteristics cannot be found). The worse part is that when the peripheral is in this state, it's services keeps empty until I kill the peripheral app(an iOS app too) and restart the app again. >From the aspect of usability, we shouldn't tell the user that "You should kill the app and restart it and try again" right? Has anyone seen this issue when you develop a central app? And I'm not sure if it's a iOS issue or my app's issue. Any engineer from Apple can answer my question?
