Unfortunately, the gdb on the linux does not know how to read the mach-o file format, which is used on Darwin. dwarf2read.c is unpatched - it's identical to Apple's stock 292 file, but something about trying to compile it under Debian sarge seems to break something. If this is the only error you get, then the fastest way for you to go would be to simply comment out the incriminated lines: functions in dwarf2read.c are probably never called, since the dwarf-2 debugging format is not supported under Darwin. You are a nice person. The picture is a by-product of having a .mac account. If Mail.app notices that the sender is using a .mac account, it checks the sender's profile (at mac.com) and if a picture has been uploaded, it displays that picture in the message. There are no secret tags. There are other ways of doing the same thing, involving Mail plugins, but I know nothing about them (including their names or sources).
