I'm working on UPS monitoring software for a serial UPS and I would like to make the PM aware of the UPS. Most details I've seen about this relate to USB HID devices. I did notice on Apple's site a IOUPSPlugIn.h header. It looks like it can be used to create a plugin for ioupsd so it can communicate with the UPS. Am I on the right track? And, if so, does anyone know where I can get additional details on implementing a plugin? The header doesn't give a lot of detail. how to profile command line tools with shark?

However I am having alot of trouble configuring Shark to do this. The program, xplor-nih, is normally run through a shell script which presets alot of environmentals. I know I can do that from the Launch dialog in Shark. However, this program is normally run by directing a script into and saving the output to a file. That is... xplor < rama.inp > rama.out I never seem to create a output file when I try to do a time profile in Shark. I also can't get Shark to redirect something as simple as... ls / > /tmp/filelist Can someone walk me through a simple example of how to properly use Shark to profile command line executables? It really provides a nice GUI for using GCC 4.0. When it comes to CLI building traditional unix source that might use autoconf and setup headers based on the endianness of the compiler, you can bet that you'll get the wrong result for the non-native architecture, so XCODE might be the way to go, passing flags as needed to get the correct results. #ifdef GROVEL So, given these two points, I'm wondering if anyone has already made XCODE projects out of source for libtiff, libjpeg and libz. #endif // GROVEL One problem I've had with g++ 10.3 built binaries on 10.2 is that libstdc++ became a dylib in 10.3, so if you link against libstdc++ on 10.3 or greater, the app won't load in 10.2 where it cannot find the dylib (and I don't think its in the 2.8.sdk either).
