I tried building libdispatch and dittoing it into /. It only has one target RELEASE but it's Build Variants specify normal, debug and profile. So I set the DYLD_IMAGE_SUFFIX to _debug. Just like a symbolic link, where we need to know what it points to. If Apple had reserved the .alias extension for alias files (as much as Apple can reserve a file extension) then it would be there as a file extension for kUTTypeAliasFile in the UTI APIs. Glenn. If I recall correctly, that file is installed by one of the gettext/ libiconv/m4 software packages, but I can't remember exactly which one at the moment. snow leapord core over nfs?

The system is set up to dump cores in the working directory. This is what I want, and it works as expected when the working directory is on a local file system. However, if the working directory is on an nfs-mounted file system, then the core file is not generated. This is different from what I was seeing on older versions of darwin. What am I missing?
