(linker requirements, Frameworks, etc.) Surely if the binary is properly compiled using the Cross-Development SDK and GCC 3.3 there shouldn't be a problem? I use a binary tool that is called from my postflight script and it works fine back to 10.2, which is my minimum system version. I check the system version is at least 10.2 before calling the binary tool. The compatibility issues should be no different to those experienced with any app. smime.p7s

If the alias is a file, just change "If exists folder" to "If exists file". This script works perfect for me. I save it as an application with the name "postflight". HTH. We had at least one 3rd party package that broke with Tiger because they specified the '-T' flag to perl, and perl became more strict about taint checking in Tiger. I didn't try adding an additional semicolon to the last string in my .strings files (this is contrary to "Listing 2" to the example on the apple page: http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/SoftwareD istribution/Concepts/sd_install_check_ref.html ). Everything now works properly with that additional semi-colon. I've amended my apple bug report, recommending that they update the above listing.
