What is a "good" file for Final Cut Pro ?

Pro-apps-dev mailing list (Pro-apps-dev(a)lists.apple.com) Help/Unsubscribe/Update your Subscription: http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/pro-apps-dev/site_archiver%40lists.a… we are rendering content as Quicktime, from our application PulpMotion, and are consistently having the following problem when we try to import those files in FCP: we get an import error with 'Unknown file' dialog (not very explicit by the way). If we drop the file on the FCP icon in the doc, the error is somewhat more explicit: 'Unsupported Frame Rate'. Typically, we work with Quicktime content encoded as PhotoJPEG or Animation or Uncompressed, with a framerate of 25, for PAL. The really bizarre thing here, is that if we render a small file (less than 10 secs say, not sure about the threshold)...it works: FCP happily accepts the file. If we render a bigger file, using the exact same settings, it produces an invalid file. If we take those files to Compressor, and re-encode them in any format, it works fine: the files become good citizens and are accepted by FCP. So the question is : what makes those files good...they look the same, have the same tracks, the same settings when viewed in QT Pro...but something makes them different.
