I change the background of the installer, which is dark one, so I can't see the text in left-size and in the semi-opaque box either. For the reference, I use Iceberg to make .pkg file. There's currently no way to do this in the Installer. The only text that you as a package author have control over is the text in your Welcome, ReadMe, and License files. The lawyers say, "translated license agreements are not compatible with each- other." How would this help? Say I'm an Austrian using a language setting of German. Then I would see the license agreement for Germany, which would probably not apply to me as an Austrian, at least not fully. Or say I'm a venezuelian using Spanish as my preferred language. I'm prety sure that venezualian law differes from spanish law. Maybe you should ask you lawyers about that. Venezuelia The main problem here IMHO is not language but jurisdiction. I don't think Mac OS X has any way of knowing which countries law apply to a user. Neither the location of the machine (which is not generally known to the machine other than maybe the time zone), nor the language setting of the user are more than indicative of which law might apply. And what about my Armenian collegue who is using the same machine under his user account with his langauge preference? When I install the software in /Applications under my German language account, accepting the German license terms, how would these apply to him? Maybe the license agreements should be written to accomodate the difficulties, telling the user to refer to the appropriate version. With PackageMaker, how do I figure out which language was chosen during the installation process during the license selection phase? I was thinking one could just set the destination to ~/Library, but all this did was make folder off the root of the drive named ~ and then a subfolder Library. I verified that the BOM lists all the files, there aren't any receipts in / Library/Receipts that clash, the files are all owned by root:wheel, yet Installer just happily goes through the motions of installing without installing a single file. There are no errors or warnings in the log, so I'm not sure what to try. Any suggestions are appreciated. Can you post the bom file and Info.plist of the package somewhere or better the package itself? IFPkgFlagDefaultLocation is set to be /usr/local but your files archive is starting with /usr/bin. It might be a good admin to ask for Root authorization instead of Admin authorization (installing stuff in /usr/ with root:wheel ownership seems to ask for it) . All seems well, however an annoying thing keeps occurring. The state of the "Copy Into Distribution Package" check box from within a pkg in the Contents of the project is not restored when I reopen a saved project. For example, if I check this box, save the project, close the project, and then reopen it the box is no longer checked. Is this a bug or a feature? This email sent to site_archiver(a)lists.apple.com
