Installer-dev -- Discussion of Apple software installation technologies (installer, packages, PackageMaker, distributions, distribution scripts) | |
About Installer-dev | |
Mac OS X includes several tools and applications to help developers distribute their software to users. Developers who are interested in leveraging the power of these technologies can consult one another by subscribing to the Installer Developers Mailing List. Topics of discussion may include questions about how to use features of the Installer, Package Maker, and distribution scripts, discussions of the best way to achieve a particular software distribution solution, and tips for any of the above. The list is intended for developers who are preparing their software for distribution or maintaining a collection of packages; it is not a discussion list about installation technology or package management in general, but a discussion list about the details of using Apple's Installer software.
