I don't know about other Microsoft products; but I would hardly call
Microsoft Entourage's AppleScript support abysmal. It's actually very well
done, and fairly complete in comparison with other Macintosh email software
on the market.
(I haven't personally looked at other Microsoft products; but I wouldn't be
surprised if their AppleScript support was well-implemented.)
But to see abysmal AppleScript support, one only has to look as far as
Apple's own software. How about comparing Mail's scriptability to
Entourage's? :) How scriptable is the Dock? How scriptable is the new
Finder compared to the old Mac OS 9 Finder? I could go on, but I'm sure you
get the point. It goes both ways - Apples own products are just as bad as
Microsofts, if not worse.
Anyhow, as far as I can tell, that's not what this thread was about before
you changed the topic. ;)
