Automatically dismissing dialog boxes

  • Subject: Automatically dismissing dialog boxes

Hello all,

here's my scenario:

From Sunday night (around 7 PM) to Friday night (around 5 or 6 PM) I don't have access to my computer (I'm not at home during the week). I leave it on, so on Friday nights when I get home, I can just come home and look at my email. However, every Friday, there's a message in Mail waiting that says something to the effect of:
Error connecting to POP server mail-hub.optonline.net.... etc.

I'm on quite a few lists, so I get ~1000 emails/week, and it's a pain to wait for them all to download on Friday night, even though I have cable.

So my question is: is there anyway I can have an Applescript check for the existence of this dialog box, then dismiss it if it exists?

TIA,
Chris
