Progress Bar for OS X?

  • Subject: Progress Bar for OS X?

I've been looking for a Progress Bar app for OS X, like Progress Bar 1.0.1,
that is callable from a script. From what I can see, the original Pbar app
is a perl module (though I may be misreading things). Couldn't someone
compile that under OS X and have a Carbon app that won't result in opening
Classic, as the original PB app does? I can't figure out how to do that, and
in fact could not find the source code when I looked for it.

Anyone help me out here?

How about writing a simple PB app with AS Studio; is that possible? (I have
a very cramped machine and have been so far unable to fit the Dev Toolkit on
my Mac, so I cannot try this approach.)
