i just want to heartily second Kai's motion that syntax examples
should be included in AS dictionaries. i've always longed for an
example or two to give me an idea how dictionary entries were
intended to be used by their creators. anyone know why developers
don't do this? does Apple give developers the ability to document
their dictionaries in this more complete and helpful manner? i was
scripting FaxSTF last year, and was delighted to discover that
Smith Micro offers a detailed PDF explaining how to use their AS
dictionary entries. FileMaker extends a similar courtesy.
however, it would be SO much better to be able to see the examples
right along with the dictionary.
here's wishing and hoping...

Yeah. I find dictionaries a useful starting point - when I haven't
a clue
where to start (which is all too often the case)! But it seems I
still need
to experiment a lot with syntax before I get a result close to what I'm
looking for! (I sometimes wonder if the inclusion of a brief
example for
each dictionary term might be more helpful to 'the rest of us'...)
thanks.
