Which 'do script' command would this be? 'do script' is, I think, a command
in the Standard Suite which has to be implemented by a specific
application's developers and listed in its Dictionary for it to be operable
within a tell block to that application. Many apps do not implement it, and
those that do can treat it very differently from each other.
You make it sound as if you think it must be a Standard Addition, or basic
AppleScript, useable outside an application, but it isn't.

Is there another way to call another script from a script?
Welcome to 'run script' and 'load script' in Standard Additions. The way you
want to use it: either giving the alias or file reference (path) of a
compiled script or typing the whole script as string, is 'run script'.
Perhaps that's what you actually used to use?
You can also 'load script', using the alias reference (path) to a compiled
script or applet, then run it, or even just tell an applet (as application)
to launch or run.
