Get a copy of AppleShare Client Setup which is available from Apple. Run it on your problem machine, and you will find a setting "Verify IP addresses by ping" or something like that. Turn it off.

If there is a firewall between your client and the server, a ping may be blocked and so the script will fail. Turning off ping verification will allow the script to work and your volume will mount.
