Hi folks,
Since installing the new Palm desktop I'm dismayed to find that I can't script it because it's inside a 'package'.
(I wish I had tried the beta and moaned to them about this).
On a particular desktop machine, I'm running OS 9.0.4, and would rather not move further up. The version of Applescript is 1.4.3 (Applescript Lib 1.4) which has suited me ok until now.
Is there a version of applescript that I can install which will allow me to script apps inside packages, or do I have to go to 9.1? I presume it's just a limitation of the old script editor application.
I'm trying to avoid applescript 1.7 for obvious reasons, and the machine wont run OSX decently (RevA beige G3), so carbon is a mere nuisance for this box.
If there's a configuration which will suit this machine I'd be grateful to hear about it.
(Conspiracy theory: Would it not be in Apple's interest to make Classic less and less stable to lever people over to OSX? Of course they'd never do that deliberately, but when it comes to budgeting time for fixing bugs in OS9 as a standalone OS...)
Thanks in advance.
Brennan
