guess it is time to learn applescript studio....

the below [with progress] was the only thing I could find that 'might' do this...
bit, it is a no-go as well :(

download gbaseURL & gtheVolume to ((path to desktop) & "Fonovisa.dmg" as string) replacing yes with progress

I would say that there four kinds of users of AppleScript, progress bar-wise.
1 - those who never use a progress bar,
2 - those who use AppleScript Studio to make AppleScript-based nice applications,
3 - those who use Smile as their scripting environment,
4 - those who purchase 24U's products.


There are also those cool hackers who imagine refreshing workarounds for displaying a progress, such as having a window in TextEdit display a percentage, etc.
