Hi,

The 'tree' unix command outputs a hierarchical listing of files and folders like this:

|-- AAbigSur1280x854.jpg
|-- ACallentown1280x854.jpg
|-- Astronomy
| |-- BigGreen.jpg

You can also show the full path of each hierarchy.

With a little sed you could add the xml code to the results.

That's only 33.3% of the solution. Sorry but it would take me two weeks to figure out how to write the SED substitution command.

Hi all,

I am new to AppleScript and have a question:

Could an AppleScript be created that traverses a selected folder's file structure – that is all its sub-folders and files – and create an xml tree structure in an xml file that represents the directories?

What I am trying to create is a Flash web interface for exploring the files and folders on a CD ROM. I want to use xml data to reproduce the directory structure of the CD ROM.

Any help or advice will be very much appreciated.

Josh.
