Yes. I believe that this by itself, far above and beyond any language or marketing or other support issue is the biggest barrier to wider AppleScript adoption. I would also hasten to point out that this includes the AppleScript implementations in Applications from Apple as well and that, of course, Applications with no AppleScript.
