I think there may be some conceptual confusion because the "busy" field of "info
for," the Finder's (and others, like Internet Explorer's) use of a 'bzy0' icon,
and the whole asynchronous Finder, where a script didn't wait for the Finder to
finish copying the file (and so the scripters became very interested in whether
the file was busy.)
But like Michelle and Chris said, things were so much easier when there was only
one user and one program on the computer, and nothing but friends on the
network.
