Hmmm. Things are getting stranger. I tried the exact same script on both of
my macs before sending this message, G4 tower and G4 laptop, both gave the
same error.

Now, 30 minute later, the tower's OK, but the laptop's still not working. I
haven't even restarted the tower.

Don't need this on a Monday.
