For a long time I've been missing a function in Mac OS X which is the ability to select several files using the Finder and send a mail to someone using the selected files as attached files.

I just drag/drop the files on either the open message or the application's icon in the Dock. That's with Eudora & Entourage.
If there's no open unsent message, it will create a new one and I add in the recipients, otherwise it adds the attachments to the current unsent message.

Must be missing what you are trying to accomplish.
