[OT] AppleScripter's Salary

Hi List,
I have been an employee for a company for 17 years. Three years ago I was promoted to Mac Support Specialist to manage all the Macs but the biggest reason was because I wrote AppleScripts. The work flows I have created has been so successful in making an artist more efficient that a task taking 20 minutes now takes 20 seconds. Some tasks are run anywhere from 5 to 15 times per day. It has enabled the company to consider downsizing the art department, removing two 30,000 average salaries. Accuracy is at its highest since AppleScript is doing most of the work. I have also begun developing AS Studio applications for the work flow. It is no secret that this has been saving this 800 +/- employee company big money, but sadly said, my wages haven't benefited. I'm at the point of asking for an increase but would like input as to what an AppleScripter's salary should be. The location of this company is approximately 75 miles from major cities (Buffalo, NY or Erie, PA).

I did a search of the list and found only one post in 2001 with a very broad range of consultant work $75 to $150 an hour or full time $47,000 to $80,000 a year. I feel times have changed with AppleScript's popularity and would like suggestions of what other professionals would agree to with the information above.

Thanks
