Optimizing PDF files (newbie)

Nowadays our behemoth had drives are full of misc. documents PDF files.

Acrobat optimizing operation dramatically reduces the size of those files.

I would like to automatize this operation with a script.

Could anyone tell me if a droplet script would be better than an automator workflow ?
